Ken Krauss

Ken Krauss is a Research Ecologist for the U.S. Geological Survey located at the Wetland and Aquatic Research Center (WARC) in Lafayette, Louisiana, USA. Dr. Krauss’s research program at WARC focuses on the physiological ecology and vulnerability of coastal wetlands, and includes: (1) investigating the ecology and physical nature of greenhouse gas fluxes from managed and natural coastal wetlands, (2) evaluating the vulnerability of coastal wetlands to sea-level rise through empirical (non-modeling) assessments along multiple coastlines, (3) studying eco-physiological and ecohydrological processes in coastal forested wetlands and watersheds and how processes scale up to higher levels, and (4) international technology transfer and science advancement in wetland science. Studies focus intently on the needs of wetland and coastal zone managers, and in enabling scientific capacity in the US Department of the Interior, state, private, and international decision-making.
