Jana Friedrich is Head of the Radioecology Section at the IAEA Marine Environment Laboratory in Monaco. Jana has a PhD in natural sciences and is a marine biogeochemist with over 25 years of experience in using radiotracers and in-situ observation systems for research into climate change and human impacts on river and coastal sea ecosystems. With her section she addresses specifically the carbon sequestration capacity of Blue Carbon ecosystems, Ocean Acidification, marine microplastic pollution, and harmful algal blooms, in research and capacity building for IAEA Member States.
