Sophie has a BA in Biological Sciences from the University of Oxford and an MSc in Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture from the University of Exeter. She joined the Scottish Government in 2017, working first as an Agricultural Officer in Rural Payments, before moving to Brussels in 2018 to work in the Scottish Government EU Office as Policy Advisor for Environment and Transport. Sophie now works as Scottish Government’s policy lead for marine climate change and blue carbon and in this capacity supports the Scottish Blue Carbon Forum and Scotland’s contribution to GO-BC.
